What is Roomba From iRobot
Are you tired of spending your days off working at home? I work full time and the last thing I want to do with my free time is to be pushing and pulling a dust spitting, noisy vacuum cleaner over my carpets.
Since I purchased my Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner five years ago, my household has gone from a family of five with a cat in a four bedroom house to just my husband and me
Yes, this invaluable robot has not only earned its own name but it also claims its very own corner in my kitchen where it happily resides in its base until called upon for duty.
How Big is Roomba?
Roomba doesn’t take up much room. It’s round and about a foot in diameter and fits unobtrusively in the corner on its base. It comes equipped with a remote control which includes the ability to schedule cleaning times. When it’s time to clean, Roomba proceeds to back out of the base while making a beeping noise similar to a truck backing up. It’s a cute feature, yes, but also a little reminder to the human that Roomba is ready to go to work.
Roomba runs about my home several times a week seeking out all the dust and dirt in the area I designate for it and when it’s done it happily returns home to its base to recharge.
Roomba is battery operated and can be set on a schedule to clean and return to base day after day. It is thorough and actually cleans more places than the average person would vacuum.
Does Roomba Really Clean?
Roomba goes under furniture and around furniture. It detects stairs and goes just up to the edge and then retreats. It nuzzles right up to the wall and gives the edges a cleaning you just don’t get with a standard vacuum. It will give extra time to areas where it detects extra debris and is very effective in the battle against animal fur!
The one feature that some consumers find annoying is the size of the bin that collects the dirt. Actually, it’s not that small. I can clean my entire apartment twice without emptying the bin. And really, it takes less than a minute to pull out the bin, dump the dust, and slip it back in!
Roomba has cut my housecleaning time in half. While Roomba works his miracle over carpets, hardwood and tile floors, I can dust furniture, clean bathrooms, and even go food shopping. I don’t have to baby sit the robot as goes about its business.
I truly believe the robot evolution has just begun. As soon as the bathroom cleaning robot is available, you know I’ll have my credit card handy!
Roomba and Allergies
If you have allergies, you’re going to love the Roomba! Frequent use will cut back on the dust that can aggravate allergy symptoms and this robot isn’t spitting dirt back into the air like a standard vacuum cleaner does.
Try the Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner for less than regular retail! It’s worth every penny! I love it to pieces but some may say the Roomba is just too expensive to buy.
Half Price Roomba
Go to a site like Amazon.com or Overstock.com and search for ‘refurbished’ Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaners. You can also do a Yahoo or Google search for refurbished robotic vacuums. Try sites like Craig’s List and eBay too! You’d be surprised at how many people will receive an item such as this as a gift and never bother to try it – they just sell it unopened on eBay or some similar site.
Just like many other high priced electronics, if an item is returned to the manufacturer for a mechanical reason, it can not be sold again as new. Many big name computer companies also offer the option of buying refurbished computers (especially laptops) and printers. The Roomba Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is sold by iRobot.com so you can also try iRobot Robotic Vacuum Cleaner in your search.
The manufacturer repairs the item and sells it at a lower price. You now have a fully functional, fully guaranteed Roomba for half price! Yes, it’s true and well worth the hunt to find it!
You may find some for sale by owner, but make sure they are unopened and still have the manufacturer’s warranty!
Beware, cleaning with a robot can become habit forming!
